The IEL is responsible for compiling and editing The Oil and Gas Reporter and the Proceedings of the Institute on Oil and Gas Law, both of which are published by LexisNexis Matthew Bender.

The Oil and Gas Reporter is a monthly loose-leaf service which provides full texts and analytical case notes of selected cases and revenue rulings on oil and gas matters. The case notes published in the Reporter are written by members of its editorial board, who are leading scholars and practitioners of national reputation.

Since 1952, the Reporter has served as a preeminent source of information for not only oil and gas practitioners, but also jurists who decide oil and gas cases. The Proceedings of the Institute on Oil and Gas Law is an edited, hard-bound volume of the papers presented at the annual Institute in February. Published since 1949, the Proceedings is an oft-cited source in legal briefs and judicial decisions concerning oil and gas law issues.

Published quarterly, the Energy Law Advisor is published via email to all Advisory Board members. Because the Institute for Energy Law brings together some of the best minds from every area of the energy industry, the ELA is a wonderful vehicle for both tapping their understanding of the key legal issues facing the industry and for reaching the people who need the information.

Each issue includes brief discussions of industry news, including editorials, discussion and analysis of legal and industry events. Each issue also includes a Members in the News section and provides a Calendar of Events showing upcoming IEL activities.

The IEL Online Forum is an online bulletin board which enables Advisory Board members to discuss among themselves issues relevant to their practice and to the energy industry.
